About

This intensive three-day workshop is designed for epidemiologists and public health researchers working in low- and middle-income country (LMIC) settings. Participants will gain hands-on experience with epidemiological methods that are practical, rigorous, and adapted to environments with limited resources, data infrastructure, and research capacity.

Hosted in Nairobi, the workshop brings together practitioners from across the African region alongside invited faculty from leading institutions worldwide. Sessions combine short lectures, group exercises, and real-world case studies drawn from participants’ own research contexts.

This workshop is aimed at mid-career epidemiologists, public health researchers, and graduate students who are actively engaged in research in LMIC settings. Prior familiarity with basic epidemiological concepts is expected. The workshop is particularly well-suited to IEA members from the Africa and Eastern Mediterranean regions.
